Bachelor and master of science in engineering mechanics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, 1968 and 1969; Colonel, USAF, Ret.; test pilot; was assigned for STS-61N; hobbies: Flying, running, skiing, sailing, hunting, camping; until 1995 Director of Shuttle Operations; since February 1996 Director, Rockwell International, Seal Beach, California; then Vice President and General Manager Deputy, NASA Systems Integrated Defense Systems; since May 15, 2003 Chief Operating Officer of United Space Alliance; since January 2006 vice president and general manager of the Boeing NASA Systems. In mid-2003, Brewster Shaw left Boeing and became the Chief Operating Officer of USA. In January 2006, he returned to the Boeing Company’s Houston campus, and was then acting as the Vice President and General Manager of the Space Exploration Division, which controlled Boeing’s ISS and Space Shuttle programs.
